How can we design communities where no one has to grow old alone?
Description: The Aging in Community Education and Research (ACER) speaker series is excited to host Dr. Kim Bergeron, Assistant Professor at Queen’s University, School of Rehabilitation Therapy, who will explore aging, housing, and the communities we create. Learn why social isolation among older adults is becoming increasingly common, how housing design affects well-being, and why traditional housing options may not meet future generations’ needs.
This session offers a hopeful vision for communities where people of all ages can thrive and it highlights the benefits of cohousing.

If you have been a Friend of Kingston Cohousing, please consider renewing your support for 2026 via our website. While we’ve been successful in obtaining grant funding, it is specific to the feasibility study and internal operations. There are many expenses associated with advancing the project that our core members must fund from their pockets. All contributions from our supporters help advance non-profit housing in Kingston, which is so needed.
