What a Great First AGM!
On Sunday, May 3, 2026, Kingston Cohousing celebrated its first year of incorporation as a legal not-for-profit, with our first Annual General Meeting, held in the Auditorium of the Providence Village Motherhouse. We had an exceptional turnout and we were so pleased to be joined by our Provincial MPP, the Honourable Ted Hsu, Kingston City Councillors Conny Glenn and Wendy Stephen, as well as our research partner from Queen’s University, Dr. Kim Bergeron. They are pictured below, along with some of our core members and supporters.
The AGM was an opportunity to review our successes over the past year and to announce the foundational grant we are so fortunate to have been awarded by the Community Housing Transformation Centre, an agency of Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. It will allow us to strengthen our internal capacity as an organization in anticipation of forward momentum.
We hope to be announcing more exciting developments soon. Stay tuned!

On Friday, March 27, our research partner, Dr. Kim Bergeron, spoke about cohousing and Kingston Cohousing as part of a Queen’s Undergraduate student conference on health and ageing.
